The Sacred Valley Project provides indigenous girls from remote rural communities in Peru with a safe place to live and access secondary education—particularly those who live too far from schools to commute daily. Beyond housing and academic support, the program focuses on leadership development, cultural transition, and empowering young women to continue their education in a region where many girls are forced to drop out early.

The project is supported by the Obama Foundation’s Girls Opportunity Alliance, which works globally to advance girls’ education and opportunity.

I travelled to Peru to document the lives of these remarkable young women, capturing how access to education is transforming their futures and strengthening their communities.
