USAID DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - Combating Zika: Hope for Teanny’s Future

CREDITS

DP / EDITING: Thomas Cristofoletti

PRODUCTION: Jane Silcok / USAID

MUSIC: Ernesto Paredano

Arianny Polanco was diagnosed with Zika while pregnant with her daughter, Teanny, who was born with microcephaly—a birth defect linked to the virus. USAID is strengthening health services to help prevent Zika and to provide care and support to affected families.

By working across Latin America and the Caribbean to control the spread of Zika, USAID is helping to reduce travel-related infections, protect public health in the United States, and mitigate the devastating impacts of the virus in affected countries.
